As the saying goes, “Attitude affects altitude” and this sweet shoot embraces all the passion and quirk to be found in this culturally rich mountaintop locale. It would be remiss not to mention, too, that Brooke’s fierce frock – as found the day of their engagement shoot – came in at an equally attractive price-tag of three dollars total.
Brooke and Lucas do live in Asheville, NC, so it’s no surprise that this is where their love story takes place. The couple, introduced by a mutual friend, found love quickly with one another. A December outing with friends to Asheville’s Sierra Nevada Brewery was Lucas’ golden opportunity to ask Brooke to be his forever.
When Lucas presented Brooke with a customized wine glass, peculiar for a brewery, she was stunned by the gorgeous letters adorning the glass that read, “Brooke, I love you. Will you marry me?” She lowered the glass to find Lucas on one knee and without pause answered, “Yes!” The evening was made that much more special by the presence of the newly minted bride-to-be’s brother, a naval recruiter stationed in Memphis, TN.
With all of the nature-inspired options that Asheville boasts, a downtown backdrop is a breath of fresh air. The pair set off with photographer Victoria Grace to scout the side streets and hidden gems among Downtown Asheville. Lucas, in a dapper ensemble completed by suspenders and bowtie, and Brooke, in a knockout lace LBD and strappy black heels, brought the heat to an otherwise blustery, winter day.
Much like Asheville itself, this engagement session has it all; a dash of playfulness among a bright yellow door, passion in the middle of a brick street and pure joy along the sidewalks as they relish in the bliss of facing their future together as husband and wife.
