When I was 12 years old, a dear neighbor, Irene, taught me how to make a basic carrot cake . I was fascinated. By the time I was in my 20s I was hooked on baking yummy desserts and how they looked when served.
I became serious about decorating cakes in 2005, when my first daughter turned a year old. Now I have two daughters, they are my inspiration. Their eyes light up when they see their special birthday cakes. I love creating great memories – we can create special, life-long memories for your child too. But children’s birthday cakes are only one part of the business. I create cakes and desserts for any occasion, especially Weddings!
I bring an extensive design background to cake design. I have a degree in graphic design from the renowned Pratt Institute, years on Madison Avenue as an art director for Revlon, a designer for Condé Nast’s Bride’s Magazine and several other New York firms as well. Before going to NY, I worked as a floral designer in Washington, DC.
A significant contributor to STL, is my silent but active partner, my husband. He is an award winning art director from New York City, bringing impressive packaging and design experience. He worked in the music industry for Sony, PolyGram (now Universal Music Group), and other record labels gathering multiple graphic design awards, including 4 Grammy Award nominations for Best Packaging over the years.
Every time I plan a cake, I use all of that design experience and talent to create you a beautiful cake or dessert that is absolutely delicious for your wedding.
