CHARLOTTE WEDDING COLLECTIVE: Who are they? What’s the big secret?

.

It’s hard to say when exactly I became the Charlotte wedding community’s resident gossipmonger (especially seeing as I inadvertently assumed the role of bridal editor just a year ago)… But I will say with certainty that I knew it to be true when on March 2nd, my day ended with nearly a dozen texts
and messages to the tune of…

“WHO… ARE… THEY?!”

“Do you know who this is?”

“Whoooooooo is Charlotte Wedding Collective???”

“Is this you’re [sic] doing?”

“Your ring!”

Why, yes. I do know exactly who and what Charlotte Wedding Collection is (and that is my ring), but it’s not so much anything to do with Charlotte Brides. In some ways, I definitely wish it were another (desperately needed) quality resource or publication for Charlotte’s wedding community. It’s actually not. But I will, however, let you in on the big secret…

Launching today, Charlotte Wedding Collective is a group of local full-time photographers who specialize in weddings and romance. The group, at its core, holds 12 collective years of professional experience. It is headed by renowned photo artists, Stefanie Morris of SMM Photography and Amy Kolodziej of Sunshower Photography. Amy and Stefanie both have their own, separate companies and sometimes shoot together, schedules allowing.

However, the duo has teamed up with a few more carefully selected photographers to create a simply structured company with slightly more modest offerings at widely accessible price-points. From here, the collective plans to pool available booking dates.

What does this mean? Well, the bride can rest assured that she will contract with a top-notch photographer and receive a professional photographic experience. Charlotte Wedding Collective believes that “even a modest wedding budget deserves timeless images.” The catch? Package offerings will be a bit more simplistic, and the photographer match will be based solely upon availability within the group.

As part of their big launch, Charlotte Wedding Collective has teamed up with several other top vendors to do a celebratory inspiration shoot at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. The shoot matches Charlotte Wedding Collective’s purpose, aesthetic, and branding.

In keeping with Charlotte Wedding Collective’s style, this wedding inspiration proves itself both simple and elegant. Bright and airy pinks and soothing sage greens comprise the soft color palette, and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden’s East Pergola makes for the perfect backdrop. Its walkway is bordered by statuesque columns which support a natural wood arbor and the most romantic canopy of winding wisteria vines.

The shoot’s tablescape features a simple yet statement-making runner of greenery along with two charming centerpieces in polished silver urns. Its place-settings are casual chic with square porcelain dishes and inverted salad plates. The otherwise classic chiavari chairs feature an unfussy whitewash finish in keeping with the theme. Finally, the cake, by Cake Expressions by Lisa, is adorned with dozens of ruffled gum paste blooms and the sweetest, tiniest hand-painted buds, both in the lightest of blues and pinks.

Striking a balance between modern and traditional, the florals by From this Day Forward boast boughs of silver brunia, seeded eucalyptus, and dusty miller. Blush-toned blossoms and the palest cabbage roses lend themselves neutral against the pops of pink wax flowers. Finally, anemones add whimsy and further visual interest.

Model Katherine Schneider wears Jim Hjelm by Hayley Paige’s style #8707 from Paige & Elliott Bridal Boutique. Surely, a dreamier ball gown cannot possibly exist. The delicate allover Chantilly lace of the bodice is feminine and romantic, stopping just at the natural waist to meet the fullest tulle skirt.

Model Candice Primm wears Kenneth Winston’s mermaid silhouette in style #1692, also from Paige & Elliott. The gown features a dramatic, plunging neckline and is comprised of corded Alencon Lace on sheer English net with interspersed appliques continuing throughout its hemline and train.
