BOHEMIAN, CLASSICALLY | Fern & Rose Quartz: Understated Luxury + Lush Layered Textures Abound

All Feature Photography by Anna Routh.

“Styled shoots are a perfect opportunity to foster community with other wedding vendors, tap into your creative side and design something you are hopefully able to recreate on a larger scale… Each vendor who dedicated their time, service and talent to our shoot was so professional and wonderful. I hope you all enjoy these photos because we had a great day pulling everything together and utilizing the skill of each vendor to create something beautiful and hopefully inspirational for those beginning their wedding planning journey.”

Bohemia meets grandeur in this stylish inspirational shoot at Separk Mansion. Planner Lauren Evans explains, “Our shoot is a juxtaposition of boho and classic. We worked in a fairly classic venue, the Separk Mansion, and used more relaxed furniture and bridal looks to balance both vibes out.”

Truly, this style session is unlike any other, and it’s ever so perfect for Charlotte brides. Lush textures are layered in contrast and in compliment: coarse cotton table linen, gossamer silk skirt layers, crochet-like aloncon lace, woven rattan, luxe flora, knobby depression glass, burled wood, and richly gilded adornments all combine.

Carey of Carey Roberts Design Co. boasts bright and bold centerpieces and floralscapes. Vibrant orchids, pastel pink snap dragons, rosy ranunculus, white anemones, and whimsical ferns all intermingle, creating an effortlessly luxurious effect. The chosen greenery, both seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus, crown the model’s gracefully curled tresses, spill over centerpieces, and accentuate the delicate naked cake.

“Carey Roberts completely stole the show when she walked in with the floral arrangement for the head table. They were so vibrant and complemented the color palette we envisioned.”

Chapel Hill based photographer, Anna Routh, utilized film for this shoot, carefully capturing each picture perfect detail.

A pair of wicker peacock chairs from Furbish Studio exudes elegance without conceit, becoming a focal point. Understated lanterns and antique mirrored trinket boxes play off the glimmering silverware and the quiet gold medallions and dainty floral chintz gracing the china patterns.

“I find a fair amount of inspiration from home design and like to focus on one particular pattern or color that I use to complement the rest of the items in the design schematic.”

Two distinctive bridal looks were chosen, the first of which being Modern Trousseau’s “Eddison” gown as gleaned from Hayden Olivia’s exclusive collection. The gown features a retro-glam fit-and-flare base with an overlay of aloncon lace. The gently belled sleeves and flared skirt are trimmed in French lace. The garment lends itself to a 70s air.

The alternate featured gown is Winnie Couture’s “Holland” which boasts a delicately beaded bodice and the most graceful of tulle A-line skirts. “Holland” was sourced from Fabulous Frocks Charlotte, a unique bridal boutique that sells once-wed gowns and samples off-the-rack as well as made-to-order designs.
